Taylor Swift may be four years older than her high school boyfriend Conor Kennedy, but the country singer says the age difference has nothing to do with love."The way I look at love is you have to follow it, and fall hard, if you fall hard," the 22-year-old, who opens up about her Kennedy romance, says in the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine. "You have to forget about what everyone else thinks. It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality."The star, who's famous for writing about her much-publicized breakups with former flames such as John Mayer and Taylor Lautner in her hit records, admits when it comes to that four-letter word, she doesn't have any rules for herself."You have to make it work by prioritizing it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard," she says. "If I think too hard about a relationship I'll talk myself out of it... I have rules for a lot of areas of my life. Love is not going to be one them."Taylor has faced much criticism in her current relationship aside from the age difference — and she didn't take too lightly a certain "kidnapping" rumor (it was reported she whisked Conor away from high school and flew him to Nashville on her private jet) when the magazine asked her about it."How did I kidnap him?" she said. "You can't kidnap a grown man! These are serious accusations, now!""It's an interesting way to spin something into a story," she adds. And in August, it was reported that she crashed a Kennedy wedding! Victoria Gifford Kennedy says she denied Conor and Taylor's last-minute RSVP for her daughter's Aug. 18 nuptials — but they showed up anyway."I have no idea what happened there," Taylor says. "I think that story was based on the biggest misunderstanding, 'cause I would never knowingly show up somewhere that I thought I wasn't invited to. And I would never want to upstage anybody."
