Since Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood was released from prison in 2013 after serving time for drug possession, she’s kept a low profile and stayed out of trouble.
But Life & Style has learned she is now seeking joint custody of her daughter, Leah, whose father is ex, Gary Shirley.

However, according to a source, Gary is not having it — not now, not ever. “He’s not giving Leah up, not even partial custody,” the insider tells Life & Style.
In 2010, Amber repeatedly assaulted Gary — sometimes in front of Leah — leading to felony domestic battery charges. So Gary, who was awarded full custody of Leah in 2011, isn’t eager to forgive and forget.

“He doesn’t think she would do a good job taking care of her,” the insider adds.
A friend of Amber’s thinks Gary isn't being fair. “Amber has worked so hard to get her life together,” says the friend. “She’s on the right track.”
