It takes a strong marriage to survive not one (but two!) prison sentences and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is admitting that hers might not be strong enough. She and husband Joe Giudice filed for bankruptcy and five years later they were indicted on bankruptcy fraud. After she finished her 11-month sentence, he checked into New Jersey’s Fort Dix Correctional Institution for his three-plus-year stay.

“I would have never thought in a million years that I would have gone to jail,” she explained to Us Weekly. “Will I still be married to Joe in 40 years? I have no idea. You don’t know what life will bring.”

But, this news isn’t especially hard to believe. Teresa is home taking care of the four daughters she shares with Joe and supporting their family all by herself. She continued, “I wear so many hats: I’m a mom, I’m a dad, I have to take them to their activities, I have to worry about the house, then I have to work to support everyone!”

Plus, earlier this year a source exclusively told Life & Style that she was having a difficult time adjusting to her husband being behind bars. “The nights without Joe have been very hard,” the source revealed. “If they didn’t have children, Teresa would be curled up in a ball.” Thankfully their oldest daughter Gia, 16, has stepped up to help her mom. “Gia is wise beyond her years,” the source added. “[The kids] are keeping her grounded.”

So, when Joe is released will he have a family waiting for him? Teresa says yes, but he’ll have to work hard to keep their marriage going.

“I know he didn’t mean to do it intentionally, but I’m still mad at the situation,” she continued. “He should have been on top of everything! When he gets home, we’ll see. We have to ride this whole thing out. He has to serve his time, come home and do amazing… But I am giving him a chance. That’s why I’m standing by him.”
