In what is sure to be one of the saddest and most touching things you will read all day/week/month/year, a terminally-ill father in Tennessee took the chance to walk his daughter down the aisle before her wedding so he would be able to experience that moment before he died.
Whitney Moore of Kingsport, Tennessee, put on her dream wedding gown so her dad David, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, could give his baby girl away.
“It really … hit me," Moore told the Kingsport Times-News of her father’s diagnosis and the fact that he only has months to live. "I questioned it. I got mad. I questioned God and I got mad at God. I was just wondering why it had to be my dad.”
With the absence of a groom, David gave rings to both Whitney and her brother in a touching ceremony, surrounded by the rest of their family.
"In my future I may love a man a lot, and some day I will marry him, but in the end let me remind you that no matter what happens," Whitney later wrote of the day. "I'll love you and you will always be the best man I know. I promise you that I will always be your little girl."
