It’s been 14 years since Trista Rehn paved the way for the super successful Bachelor spin-off, The Bachelorette. And while she was the first contestant to find happily ever after on the show, she wasn’t the last!
Although The Bachelor came first, premiering in 2002, its counterpart has had a higher success rate. Out of 12 Bachelorettes, five are married or still engaged to their final picks, while only two Bachelor suitors have made it work (not counting Nick Viall, who just got engaged a few months ago).

Trista, who has since taken husband Ryan Sutter’s last name, previously opened up to Today about why her marriage has worked while others have failed. "Whenever I hear of people going on Dancing With the Stars right after, it's heartbreaking to me," she admitted. "[You] really need to focus your time and energy on each other.”

The 44-year-old added, “It is a really short period of time, and you are in a bubble. For six, eight, 10 weeks — however long you're filming… that's all you're focused on… You're just solely focused on developing these relationships. And for some people, they get caught up in the glamour of it all, and the excitement. And maybe they just realize, after they get back to the real world, that they're not compatible."
