Ben Hollingsworth is off the market, ladies!
The actor, who starred with Demi Moore in The Joneses and is currently filming CW's new series Cult, proposed on his birthday to his girlfriend of two years, Nila Myers. And he got the best present of all--she said yes!
"I will never forget my 28th birthday--or my anniversary," Ben tells Life & Style exclusively about getting engaged over dinner at Brix, an Italian restaurant and wine bar in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Sept. 7. "After dinner, I remember sitting there looking across the table at her and feeling this mixed wave of comfort and euphoria. I thought, If only I could have this feeling for the rest of my life, and then it hit me: I can and I will -- now get down on one knee, you idiot, and let's do this! So I did, I was down on one knee asking the girl of my dreams to spend the rest of her life with me."
So how did Nila win Ben's heart?
"She's a triple threat: body, brains, and beauty," Ben says about his fiancée who is a lingerie designer, Bar Method teacher and has a master's degree in criminology from Bond University. Although Nila leaves the acting to Ben, who's CW series is expected to premiere in January, she has ties to Hollywood: Her grandfather, Julian Myers, was Marilyn Monroe's publicist.
"Nila is very close with her grandfather, so it was important for me call him and ask him for his blessing before I proposed," Ben tells Life & Style.
The couple have already set the date -- Nov. 10 in Malibu--but don't jump to conclusions, this isn't a shotgun wedding.
"No, she isn't pregnant!" Ben says. "Why wait to marry the woman of your dreams?"
