Adam Levine’s not letting money come between his relationships on The Voice.
On a new interview with Nylon Guys magazine, the heartthrob responds to reports that new coach Shakira is making twice as much as he is from the show.
“She’s Shakira dude! She’s a f—ing international superstar!” he says. “I don’t care. It’s just money.”
The pair’s relationship on the hit NBC series is playing out to be quite interesting. Before its March 24 premiere, Adam admitted that Shakira is “not afraid to knock me out.”
And during last night’s show, the new mom was upset with herself when she decided not to turn around for contestant Karina Iglesias. Adam and Blake Shelton did, which caused the Maroon 5 front man to persuade Karina to join his team. Shakira berated herself in Spanish during Adam’s plea, so Adam told her to “shut up” in her native tongue!

Fortunately, it was all a joke and there are no hard feelings between the two.
The reality competition isn’t the only subject Adam addresses. He also explains why he never wants to get married — cue the sound of millions of hearts shattering.
“I’m doing pretty well. If you don’t get married, you can’t get divorced,” says Adam, who’s currently dating model Behati Prinsloo. “Why couldn’t we learn that from the devastatingly low percentage of successful marriages that our last generation went through?”
He also talks about his heavy workload — season 4 of The Voice is in full swing and Maroon 5 just announced their joint summer tour with Kelly Clarkson — but it’s something you won’t catch him complaining about.
“It’s a lot. But it might not be a lot someday,” he explains. “I don’t like to complain. You have this moment. It doesn’t last forever. You should probably try and enjoy it.”
