Buh-bye girl next door — The Voice's Cassadee Pope's got a new edgier look!
On last night's show, the top 8 performed and it was hopeful Cassadee whose sex appeal and vocals really stood out.
So how did the sweet 23-year-old transform into such a vixen? The Voice's resident hairstylist and makeup artists, Shawn Finch and Darcy Gilmore, respectively, tell Life & Style how they created the hot look.
"Her flame-like hair took flight under a wind blowing stage effect," Shawn tells Life & Style. "To help with that effect, we lightly curled Cassadee's hair away from her face using a 2-inch curling iron, taking the hair in vertical sections. We also parted it in the center and left the top of her hair smooth and silky using a balm to add shine and smoothness."

"We brushed through the curls. We did not add any hairspray or gels because we didn't want to have her hair look stiff or rigid," Shawn continues, adding, "We just wanted free flowing locks and lots of drama — and she really rocked it!"
And the makeup certainly matched the part.
"We wanted to take it in an edgier direction since she was singing a tougher song," Darcy tells Life & Style. "It was a statement look. A defined brow sets the look and shape of the eye. On the lid, we used black eye shadow and black sparkle pressed over it, which created a layered effect.”
“By layering the black cream liner on the top of the eye and a full line around the entire lower lash line, it made the eye look larger,” she adds.” Black in the water line is the ultimate in eye definition. Finally, we put on a super long — but not thick — perfectly sized false lash, creating depth. We topped that off with a nicely shaped and contoured blush and a lipstick that does not compete with the eye, but polishes off the look and marries the makeup to the hair color!"

And the fan favorite, who impressed the judges with her performance of Michelle Branch's "Are You Happy Now?" last night, loves her style!
"[The show] had us make collages of our favorite styles of celebrities and stuff like that," Cassadee tells Life & Style. "I brought in a collage and from then on, from the very first day, they have pulled things for me that I just love. It's been so easy. I do love fashion."
