Jonathan Novack, a.k.a. The Weatherman from Ali Fedotowsky's season of The Bachelorette, may have been in on the joke, but he also approves of ABC's controversial pick for the upcoming season of The Bachelor.
"[ABC] didn't want to reveal background shots of Brad Womack in the audience and ruin the moment," Jonathan tells Life & Style about fooling America by sitting next to Bachelor host Chris Harrison in the audience during the Sept. 27 episode of Dancing With the Stars. (On Sept. 22, Chris Tweeted: "I'll be sitting next to the new Bachelor Monday night at Dancing W The Stars!") "So they put me in as a decoy."
And after meeting Brad, Jonathan is convinced that he deserves a second shot. "He's a sincere, genuine guy," says Jonathan. "He's humble and that's a nice shift from some of the people who go on these shows."
Brad made Bachelor history when he picked neither of the final two women during his season 11 finale in 2007. "He didn't choose anybody because he legitimately didn't find love," says Jonathan in defense of the returning Bachelor. "I think he's actually looking for love and he's a good choice in the end."
The Bachelor returns in January 2011.
