Believe it or not, these stars (plus four others!) were almost given the chance to hang out on Central Perk's iconic orange couch on Friends. Scroll through the gallery below to see what could have been!

Rachel Green // Téa Leoni
Téa was reportedly heavily considered for the role of self-centered yet lovable Rachel, but turned it down to star in The Naked Truth instead. We're ultimately glad she did, because "The Rachel" just doesn't look right on anyone besides Jennifer Aniston.

Chandler Bing // Jon Cryer
The Two and a Half Men star was once given a script for a new show called “Six of One” (can you imagine if the show had really been named that!?) and was later asked to come in to audition for the role of "Mrs. Chanandler Bong."
But, Jon was performing on stage in London at the time and was unable to fly back to Los Angeles for the audition and the role (thankfully) went to Matthew Perry instead.

Monica Geller // Leah Remini
The show's writers originally imagined Monica's character to be much more snarky and sarcastically-minded, so it's no surprise Kind of Queens star Leah was almost cast in the part.
Monica's personality was eventually changed to better match that of Courteney Cox after she was cast in the role. And Leah did end up on Friends after all — she appeared in “The One With The Birth," where Joey stays by her side while she's having a baby!

Joey Tribbiani // Frank Azaria
The Simpsons alum was brought in to audition for the role of Joey when the script for "Friends Like Us," (ugh, seriously?) was first being sent around.
“I went and auditioned for Joey and got rejected,” he said of his experience auditioning for the show. Frank did eventually land a role on Friends, though, as Phoebe's love interest, David.

Phoebe Buffay // Jane Krakowski
It's hard to imagine anyone else pulling off Phoebe's endearingly spacey personality, but 30 Rock star Jane was allegedly Marta Kauffman and David Crane's first pick to play Pheebs.

Ross Geller // Eric McCormack
Yep, can you imagine if Eric from Will & Grace had played Ross instead of David Schwimmer? He reportedly auditioned several times to play everyone's favorite paleontologist.
