It looks like Prince Harry is not on the Markle family’s good side! Just three days after His Royal Highness made what many consider to be a rude comment about his fiancée Meghan Markle‘s family, they are finally speaking out. Meghan’s older brother Thomas Markle Jr. opened up about how he and his father, Thomas Markle Sr., felt about Prince Harry’s comment.

During an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today show, the 33-year-old revealed details about Meghan’s first Christmas with the royal family. Prince Harry said that she “has done an absolutely amazing job” at getting acquainted with his family, then added, “She’s getting in there and it’s the family that I suppose she’s never had.”

But Meghan’s family took offense to his comment — and rightfully so! “She’s had a really good family,” Meghan’s brother told The Daily Mail. “We were as close as we could be, as tight as we could be, that’s what we were. We’d get together on Christmases, on holidays, on birthdays, on Thanksgivings…It was always somewhere, even though we lived in different parts of the city [LA] – we still all got together.”

“Obviously, she had a family. She was very privileged,” the 51-year-old continued. “She got everything she ever wanted. We did the best that we could in terms of getting together for holidays and whatnot.” But Thomas Jr. is worried about how their father will react to Prince Harry’s interview.

“My father will be extremely hurt, actually,” Thomas Jr. said. “He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she’s at today.”

One person who was definitely hurt by the comments that Prince Harry made in the press was Meghan and Thomas’ sister, Samantha Markle and the 53-year-old took to Twitter to respond. “She has a large family. She always did,” Samantha wrote. “Our dad is amazing and completely self-sacrificing. We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!”
