Get ready for a whole lot of funny at the 2012 Golden Globes!
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dick Clark Productions and NBC have announced that close pals Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host the glam awards show on Jan. 13.
"The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action," said Takla-O'Reilly, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show's 70th anniversary!"
It’s no surprise that Tina and Amy have been asked to host the gig. Their comical off-screen chemistry mirrors that of their time together on the big screen. The duo, who’ve known each other since 1993, appeared as co-anchors on the Saturday Night Live Weekend Update desk from 2004 to 2006. In 2004, they made their film debut in Mean Girls and four years later, they played the two leads in the hilarious flick Baby Mama.
“Amy Poehler and I have been friends for so long, we’re like Oprah and Gale,” Tina has joked about their friendship.
The actresses will replace comedian Ricky Gervais, who’s hosted the event for the past three years.
