Does your heart have a gaping hole since the last Twilight film premiered two years ago? Well, it’s about to be filled!
It turns out the franchise full of hot vampires and werewolves isn’t over just yet, as it’s been confirmed a series of short films based on the Twilight books and movies will be released on Facebook.
What’s better than vamps, wolves and social media? Nothin’ if you ask us!
According to a new report, five aspiring female directors will be chosen to direct the mini-films in a competition named The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga. The new project has been backed by author Stephenie Meyer and Lions Gate Entertainment.
This probably means we won’t see Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) or Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) reuniting, but the report says the entries will be judged by K-Stew, Stephenie, Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Lee, Catherine Hardwicke, Julie Bowen and Women in Film President Cathy Schulman. Not too shabby!
After they pick the five winning short films, fans will help select the winner, who will walk away with a cash prize and career opportunities.
“The female voice is something that has become more and more important to me as I’ve worked in the film industry,” Stephenie tells Deadline.com. “I’m honored to be working with Women In Film, Lions Gate, and Facebook on a project dedicated to giving more women a chance to be heard creatively.”
This means another shirtless Jacob Black will be born and a new Cullen will hopefully sweep us off our feet. BLESS THIS VENTURE.
