Days after his 5-year-old son Usher Raymond V was hospitalized after almost drowning in a pool, Usher is speaking out about the situation — and thanking the people who saved his child's life.“I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering,” he said in a statement.The singer is grateful for the well wishes his family has received during this difficult time. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being,” the 34-year-old said.

“I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock," the father of two shared. "I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son’s life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."
On Wednesday, the boy's mom, Tameka Foster, took to Twitter to release her own statement. She revealed how her son is doing and expressed her gratitude for the messages of support she recieved.

Usher's Son is "Doing Fine" After Nearly DrowningThe scary accident occured on Monday when Usher V got his arm stuck in a pool drain while trying to retrieve a toy. His aunt and a maid dove in to save him, but were unsuccessful. They sought the help of two contractors working in the house, who jumped in and freed him from the pool. Little Usher was then rushed to an Atlanta hospital where he is now recovering.
