It’s hard to make a relationship work in Hollywood, but Vanessa and Nick Lachey have seemed to nail it down.
In a new interview, the duo open up about their 20-month-old son, Camden, expanding their brood – and how they view the other as a parent.
(And, yes, it’s super sweet.)
On Vanessa as a mom, the 98 Degrees alum says, “My wife’s maternal side is a new dynamic to her personality — and it’s definitely made her even sexier.”

Well, Nick, you’re not too shabby yourself!
“I knew the man I was going to marry was not only a great man, a good friend, and a family guy, but he was going to respect and treat me well and be an amazing father and role model to our children. That’s Nick,” the TV personality said about her hubby.
With a tot on their hands and their busy schedules, life can get pretty hectic for the pair.
But they still make spending time together one of their main priorities.
After they put Camden [pictured above] to bed at 7:30 p.m. every night, Vanessa and Nick love to unwind.

“We put on some music or a favorite TV show, pour a glass of wine, have dinner – that’s our ‘alone time’. That’s why it was so important to us to establish Camden’s sleep schedule right out of the gate,” Vanessa, 33, shares. “I had six different moms telling me ‘Get him on a routine; you will thank yourself later.”
As for baby No. 2, it seems the duo — who wed in July 2011 — are planning to make that a reality sooner than later.
“We definitely want more kids. You don’t want kids to have to share the same group of friends,” Nick says.
Vanessa interjects, “But you don’t want them so far apart that they have nothing in common.”
And the musician is in agreement: “Yes, they have to be close enough in age so they can still relate to each other.”
For now, they’re content with their little family and going through this crazy thing called life as one.
“We’re learning together and figuring it out along the way,” Nick, 40, tells the June issue of Parents magazine, in which they cover — along with their adorable child. “At least we think we’ve figured it out. I guess we’ll find out down the line if we screwed up or not!”
