Being a mom and a model is a full-time job, and Adriana Lima is living proof.
The 31-year-old had only eight weeks between giving birth to her second baby, Sienna, and walking in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to get her body back. And it wasn’t an easy feat.
After taking only three weeks to recover from the pregnancy, Adriana’s longtime trainer, Michael Olajide, Jr., of Aerospace NYC, created an intense workout plan to get the beauty into tip-top shape for the runway.
“We only had five weeks to do it, so we were working out twice a day, seven days a week for two to three hours per session,” he says of the regimen called the aeroboxing endurance plan.
Ready for the details? Starting at 9 .am., the workouts included 20 to 30 minutes on an exercise bike, then 20 to 30 minutes of core work created by Olajide. From there, he says they did a “variety” of exercises, including jump rope, boxing, and specialized sculpting maneuvers.
After ending around noon, Adriana would go home to spend time with her daughters Valentina, 3, Sienna and hubby Marko Jarić, whom she married in 2008.
“She’d be back in the gym at 5:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. to put in another couple of hours,” he shares, adding, “To see her body make that kind of transformation after the first few weeks was incredible. All of a sudden, it just started to melt off — it was crazy.”
As for her diet, the bombshell followed a very strict, portion-controlled schedule. “She had steamed meats, nothing fried,” Olajide says. “Everything was really plain with no sauces. She held back on sodium especially so her body wouldn’t retain water.”
“Water intake was also very important,” he continues. “She had steamed veggies like broccoli, spinach, very dark greens, and chicken. She stayed away from sugars.”
And there’s no doubt it: Adriana looked fit and fabulous as can be as she strutted her stuff down the runway last night!
