When Does This Is Us Return? Inside the Show's Super Bowl Episode

For fans hoping to catch a new episode of This Is Us on Tuesday night, you’re unfortunately out of luck. The big three were won’t return to our television screens until Feb. 4.

Though we’re disappointed that we won’t be able to check in with the Pearson gang this week, their absence gives us time to properly prepare ourselves for Sunday night’s episode. As promised, This Is Us fans will finally get all the answers surrounding Jack’s death during the much-anticipated Super Bowl episode. “I can’t wait for fans to see our Super Bowl episode,” Mandy Moore (who plays Rebecca) told ET Online. “People will get a lot of answers and will be able to move forward. I think for everybody’s sake it’ll be a good thing.”

Viewers were left with a bit of a cliffhanger after the last episode aired. But, after almost two full seasons there will be zero mystery surrounding the events that led to Jack’s death. “It’s just an absolute soul-crushing event,” Milo Ventimiglia (who plays Jack) told Entertainment Weekly. “Once you figure out the moment where it’s going to happen, you may get some hope — and then it’s all going to go away. He has another way of putting it: I think the best thing I can say — or the worst thing I can say — is: It’s going to be f–king painful.”

We have so many questions — why does Kate feel guilty? What happened after Jack died? “When they learn what happened to Jack, I think people are going to find themselves surprised with their own emotion,” he added. “I really think people are going to have a hard time accepting it, but what they should know is that even when we do find out Jack’s death, it doesn’t mean that Jack goes away. That’s a good thing to remind people of — I’m not going away from the show, Jack is still around. There is still so much story to mine in this world of This Is Us.”
