Five, six, seven, eight!

Summer wouldn’t be nearly as enjoyable if we didn’t have Dance Moms to watch every week. Fans are anxiously awaiting the Season 7B premiere of the reality show, and they won’t have to hold out much longer. The series returns Aug. 1 with seven new episodes. That’s right — seven whole weeks full of drama, dancing, and dynamite choreography!

The upcoming season is special for a couple of reasons, but the most noticeable change is that this will be the last time fans will watch Abby Lee Miller teach her dancers. The episodes included in Season 7B will feature footage of her final days in the studio. Scroll down to learn more exciting details about the next season of Dance Moms.

Why is Abby leaving Dance Moms?

There’s no denying that the show revolved around Abby’s giant personality, unique teaching methods, and conflicts with the dancers and their mothers. But, that will all change this year because the instructor was found guilty of bankruptcy fraud and will serve over a year in prison for her crimes. Dancing with the Stars alum Cheryl Burke has since taken over.

Abby revealed that she was leaving the show in a lengthy Instagram post in March: “I WILL NO LONGER TAKE PART IN DANCE MOMS. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS/ SEVEN SEASONS I HAVE ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES, AND COSTUMING – TO NO AVAIL! … I don’t have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people’s children successful! I JUST HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEING MANIPULATED, DISRESPECTED, AND USED – DAY IN AND DAY OUT BY MEN WHO NEVER TOOK A DANCE LESSON IN THEIR LIVES AND TREAT WOMEN LIKE DIRT!”

Which dancers are returning to Dance Moms?

Fan-favorite Chloe Lukasiak will return for the next season of the show. She came back last season and has decided to make another appearance. The 16-year-old was an original cast member on the show but left in Season 4. She recently revealed to Seventeen why she decided to return.

“I found out that the show was coming back for another season and my mom started talking to [the other moms] and we decided to go back for another season,” she explained. “It was pretty insane and out of nowhere… You can expect a lot of drama from the show, lots of crying. I cried so much. I was like, ‘I’m such a crybaby.’ And all of the dances I’ve done on the most recent season I’ve really loved. The last number of the season is amazing. But you have to keep an open mind this season because it does change a lot and it’s going to be a little different than what fans are used to. I think the change was good for all of us.”

Dance Moms returns Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
