Who was Gizelle Bryant from Real Housewives of Potomac married to? Fans got a little taste of the old Gizelle on this week's episode of RHOP when she broke out her best church hat and her bible, channeling herself back when she was the wife of a pastor — and she's reliving those years so that she can include details in her upcoming book. Since Gizelle got divorced from her ex-husband before she joined the cast of the Bravo reality TV series, fans have not gotten a chance to meet her former hubby.

Gizelle was married to Jamal Bryant, who was the pastor at the Empowerment Temple AME Church, which is a megachurch based out of Baltimore where Jamal preaches to a congregation of about 10,000 to 12,000 people. The couple was married for seven years between 2002 and 2009, and they had three children together — 13-year-old daughter Grace and 12-year-old twin daughters Adore and Angel. Gizelle once said she had a "blissful" marriage with Jamal until she found out that he had not only been a serial cheater, but that he allegedly had a child with another woman while they were married.

"At the time, I had two one-year-olds and a two-year-old. Three girls. They're beautiful. And I said, 'I'm not doing this. I'm not gonna be disrespected,'" Gizelle said during an interview with The Breakfast Club. "So yes, I packed up and left."

Gizelle previously revealed that she found out about Jamal's infidelity when his mistress came forward and told her personally about their affair, and she said she tried to make it work with Jamal for about a year before she decided to file for divorce. But now, Gizelle and Jamal are good friends and they are able to co-parent their children without any drama.

"There are always little rough days here and there, but he and I are really good friends," she told Radar Online. "And we’ve always been good friends, so we’re really at a good place."
