Emma Stone’s official Twitter account may be tweeting, but it’s not the actress who’s pressing send.
While promoting her new animated flick, The Croods, on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the 24-year-old reveals she’s been hacked.
When Ryan asked the beauty about her odd Twitter habits — her account is known to Tweet then delete — she cleared it all up.
“I’m glad you asked me about this," Emma revealed, "I have never tweeted, my friend. I’ve tweeted one time to Seth MacFarlane. I said, ‘Me too, oh boy.’”
“And then I’ve been hacked ever since," she added. "They’ve locked me out of my Twitter, so I can’t access it because they changed my email and my password. We are trying to figure out how to delete it.”
The starlet also took the opportunity to clear up the rumors about one tweet in particular regarding her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, and Shailene Woodley. The trio are currently filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
“I heard the other day they tweeted an anagram about Shailene Woodley — who is one of my favorite human beings on the planet. I heard it was an anagram of Shailene and Andrew sitting in a tree…” Emma explained, referring to the jumbled tweet from her account on March 2, “nawder nad islashene tsintgi ni a erte”
The 24-year-old star clarified, “That was absolutely, I swear to you, not me. I’ve never tweeted other than that one time. I didn’t know about any of this happening because I don’t go on Twitter. I just had a verified account, but now I want to get rid of it.”
Emma didn’t even sign up for Twitter herself! While on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in August 2011, the star admitted Jimmy was the one who created her account (@stonenobrien).
“You set up my Twitter account and I’ve tweeted twice because it makes me a little paranoid,” she told the late night host. “Everyone’s gonna read my thoughts.”
Seems like Emma was never quite sold on Twitter!
