Understated style at the Cannes Film Festival? Never. But this year, the biggest statement-maker of them all went to totally new heights of OMG-worthy glamour: Freida Pinto's Michael Kors floor-sweeper.
The incredible gown took an astonishing 1,500 hours to hand-embroider, with paillettes, glass beads and 70,000 individually applied ostrich feather – and that's before the dress itself was even assembled!
Then the gown traveled 23,000 miles (in the hands of a trusted courier, of course) to and from fittings.
"Cannes is very much about theatrics and drama, which I love," designer Michael Kors tells Life & Style. "Where else could you wear tulle and ombré sequins and feathers?"
Freida Pinto isn't the only star who donned a jaw-dropping gown! Take a look at other intricate dresses worn by celebs!
