Another American Idol night, another dramatic Nicki Minaj moment.
Twenty-four hours after the 30-year-old showed up 15 minutes late to the first live Hollywood show, Nicki attempted to quit the FOX series after her favorite contestant was sent home on March 14.

After failing to garner enough votes, Curtis Finch Jr. was the first hopeful eliminated.
“If you go home, I go home,” the “Super Bass” singer told the aspiring singer — which was peculiar considering he was the act she missed on Wednesday night’s episode, having been late.
“I definitely think Curtis should not be in the bottom two. I mean, I love Devin [Velez] but I think that Curtis, if you look at every one of his performances, I mean – come on, America, are you kidding me?” Nicki said.

Luckily for Devin, he lives on to sing another week. Unfortunately for Curtis, his powerful rendition of “I Believe I Can Fly” [see below] was not enough for judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson to use their saving vote on him.
For the first time in Idol history, the show revealed the top 10 by rank – similar to what the X Factor did last season.
The ladies took over the top three with Kree Harrison, Angela Miller and Candice Glover.
