Now this is the story all about how…Will Smith attended actress Gabrielle Union’s 40th birthday and took to the stage to perform some of his old hits!
The 44-year-old actor may be busy working on films and guiding the careers of his kids, Jaden, 14, and Willow, 12, but that didn’t stop him from attending Gabrielle’s bash in Miami last weekend.
But it wasn’t his appearance that got people excited; it was his rap performance with Doug E. Fresh.
With Doug E. on the beatbox, Will took the mic and proved he’s still got serious rapping skills. After getting the crowd going by asking the women to scream “Owwwww” and the fellas to shout “Hooo,” the A-lister took it to another level when he performed his 1991 hit “Summertime” and the memorable theme song from the 1990 hit TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
“Wow. Epic night. Fresh prince and dougie fresh just shut it down,” Gabrielle’s boyfriend and Miami Heat point guard, Dwayne Wade, captioned a photo on his Instagram.
“Like..This. Happened,” Gabrielle, who co-starred with Will in 2003’s Bad Boys II, responded.
It seems Will’s really got a case of the rapping bug lately. In May, while promoting Men in Black 3, the star joined old partner D.J. Jazzy Jeff and his two kids, Jaden and Willow, on stage for an impromptu performance.
We think it’s safe to say the Fresh Prince is back!
