L.A. Reid has a lot to celebrate — his X Factor hopeful, Tate Stevens, won the big prize last night!
But as everyone knows, the music mogul will not be returning next season. So who will replace him?
According to co-host Mario Lopez, he has a particular superstar he'd like to see in L.A.'s chair.
"I've been campaigning for my girl Fergie," Mario tells Life & Style. "I think she would be awesome. We've been friends for a long time and I think she's talented. She'd be an awesome judge/mentor. She's cool, hip, and I think the kids would really respond to her and like her."
NEWS: Which X Factor judge is not returning next season?
In fact, as Life & Style reported in March, Fergie was one of the artists in talks to be part of the judges' panel for season two. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old had to turn it down at the time.
"I know there were talks last season and this season," she said. "But ... Simon [Cowell] said before [that] timing is everything and it's not the right time for me."
But could season three be a whole different story? Hmm — we’ll just have to wait and see!

When we talked to L.A., he had a different musician in mind.
"I think Rihanna should fill my spot so that I have a reason to watch," he tells Life & Style.
Regardless of the decision, L.A. will certainly be missed next year. And if anyone's grateful for having worked with him, it's Tate.
"He's a great guy," Tate tells Life & Style. "I pray that I continue to work with him in the future. He is as good as they get. He's a fantastic guy."
