It looks like the saying is true — cats really do have nine lives!
After feline Bart, now nicknamed "Zombie Cat," was struck by a car, he was pronounced dead by local veterinarians and buried in his owners' backyard.
"He was stiff, wasn't moving, no sign of life," explains owner Ellis Hutson.
Flash forward five days later: Bart shows up on a neighbor's doorstep! "It was unbelievable," Hutson shares. "The cat was smelly, the cat was dirty. The cat had a big hole in the side of his head.”
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has since revealed that Bart underwent surgery and should be well enough to go home in a couple of days. Despite his incredible ordeal, he only had to have one eye removed.
"Zombie Cat" indeed...
