Most women in Hollywood — and in general — prefer long locks and extensions, but not Anne Hathaway.
“I love the short-haired lifestyle. The only downside is having to get a hair cut every three weeks,” the actress, who turned 30 today, tells the December issue of Vogue about her short hair, adding, “...I hope this isn’t obnoxious to say — I feel prettier, and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now.”
We’re sure she likes saving time considering Lauren Conrad just revealed it takes 7 hours to do her hair!
But Anne did not feel as confident at first.
"I've now done backflips out of windows, I've jumped off of buildings and cutting my hair reduced me to like mental patient crying,” the star, who chopped off her long tresses for the role of Fantine in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables, said.
In the Vogue interview, Anne speaks candidly about the part and the great lengths she went to perfect it.
“I had to be obsessive about it — the idea was to look near death,” the actress reveals about losing weight for the role. “Looking back on the whole experience — and I don’t judge it in any way — it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway.”
Life’s been pretty good for the Oscar-nominated brunette recently. After starring in one of summer’s biggest hits, The Dark Knight Rises, and marrying beau Adam Shulman in September, she hosted Saturday Night Live for the fourth time over the weekend.
