Six months after their shocking split, sources claim Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are talking again after engaging in a bitter divorce battle.

The pair’s initial custody disputes were well documented, but they’ve since decided to handle matters privately with the help of a judge.

“He’s much happier,” a source told People magazine of the 53-year-old actor. “He’s very relieved that things are not playing out in public anymore… It was a rough time, but they were able to resolve it. This is a work in progress.”

Although Brad was investigated by the FBI over child abuse allegations in September, Angelina, 41, has since called her ex a “wonderful” father to their six children.

“He’s always been extremely positive about how Angie’s a good mother, and the goal was to resolve everything for the kids and the whole family, and they’re working toward that,” the source revealed. A different insider added, “He is spending more time with the kids when they are in LA. He has even spent some time with Maddox and Pax. Things are definitely calming down.”

It was originally reported that Maddox, 15, was involved in the incident that led to Brad’s FBI questioning. The teen allegedly defended his mother during an argument, which caused the Allied star to lunge at him.

A source told TMZ at the time, “[Brad] takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.” The case was eventually dropped.

As Life & Style previously reported, the Oscar winner hasn’t just mended fences with Angelina. He’s also repairing his relationship with longtime friend George Clooney after the actress insulted the father-to-be’s wife, Amal.

“It took some time [for George] to forgive and accept Brad because he was really hurt,” an insider shared. “But he understands what Brad was up against being married to Angie. She is tough.”
