Bachelor Nation Virgins: Contestants Who Have Not Had Sex

Looking for a deeper connection. Season after season, contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette claim that they’re on the show “for the right reasons,” but some up the ante. That’s right, we’re talking about the big V. From contestants to leads, a handful of Bachelor Nation stars have been open and honest about keeping their virginity, no matter how far they got on the show.

Now, we’re not saying that all the contestants who remained celibate were complete virgins — while that does apply for some — but some stars became born-again virgins throughout their time on the hit ABC dating show.

The Bachelor alum Sean Lowe became a highly likable lead for many reasons. He was the first Bachelor to marry his pick Catherine Lowe — whom he’s still happily married to and with whom he shares three beautiful children – and chose to hold off on sex until marriage.

“After graduating college, I moved back to Dallas. I was dating other girls and I started having sex, and I would feel extremely guilty afterwards,” he revealed to TIME in March 2014. “But after that guilt faded, then I’d start talking to some other girl and go down that same path of destruction,” he continued. “At the age of 24, I finally became a man. I said, ‘OK, Jesus, let’s do it again.’

Madison Prewett from Peter Weber’s season was also very vocal about her adamancy on saving herself until marriage. The devoted Christian opened up about her decision during a one-on-one date, revealing that she made the commitment while growing up.

“For me, I see it as the day that I say ‘I do’ to the person I want to spend the rest of my life with is the day that he is getting all of me — body, soul and spirit,” she said before heading into Fantasy Suites. “I am his. I look at relationships and not both people are going to make the same life decisions, and I don’t expect that for you or anybody,” she added.

Although Pilot Pete reassured her that she was pretty much the one, he later revealed that he got “intimate” with other contestants before handing out his final rose.

The basketball player didn’t receive the answer she was hoping for after revealing to Peter that she was remaining celibate until marriage. “For me, I don’t want you to feel like this is all about sex. This is a big thing right now for us,” he said. “I don’t know how else to do this. I will just be very honest. I have been intimate, and I can’t lie to you about that.”

Colton Underwood

The former Bachelor lead revealed that he was a virgin while fighting for Becca Kufrin’s final rose during season 14 of The Bachelorette. The former football player later discussed his decision after he came out as gay in April 2021.

“I was a full virgin [before The Bachelor], and I could never give anybody a good answer of why I was a virgin,” he said during an April 2021 interview with Good Morning America. “The truth is I was a virgin Bachelor because I was gay, and I didn’t know how to handle it.”

The California cutie told The Bachelor season 26 lead Clayton Echardshe was holding onto her V-card after receiving the first impression rose and landing a one-on-one date. The former football player responded in shock (if that’s what you want to call it), saying that he “never would have known” she was a virgin.

The former baseball player announced he hadn’t had sex before he even came out of the limo on night one! “Most people when they see me, they think I’m a huge player,” he said before entering the mansion during season 17 of The Bachelorette. “But that’s not morally where I’m at. So, I’m waiting for marriage, I’ve never had sex,” he added while applauding Katie Thurston for being sex-positive.

Becca Tilley

The Bachelor Nation legend’s storyline was all about being a virgin while fighting for Chris Soule’s heart during season 19 of the show, before returning for Ben Higgin’s season a year later. She later revealed she had sex with ex-boyfriend and The Bachelorette alum Robert Graham during their relationship.

Ashley Iaconetti

The Bachelor Nation all star also had a storyline for being a virgin during her time on The Bachelor season 19. However, she has remained true to her decision and her husband and Bachelor in Paradise costar, Jared Haibon, even praises her for it to this day.

“I just thought I’d use this shirt as a means to say, it doesn’t matter why and it doesn’t matter how old you are,” she said while flaunting a “Virginity Rocks” shirt, gifted by her hubby in 2020. “You’re not weird, and you’re not alone. Talk about it if you want or don’t talk about it if you don’t want. Just remember to embrace your decisions and trust God’s timing in your life.”

Sadie Murray

The blonde bombshell was the first-ever contestant to share that she was a virgin. “You don’t realize that will be your only storyline when you’re giving the one-on-one interviews,” she told The Washington Post in 2018. Sadie ended up coming in second place during Prince Lorenzo Borghese’s season, but she ended up dating him after the show.
