From the sounds of it, Brandon Jones‘ real-life would fit in perfectly as a Pretty Little Liars storyline. The 29-year-old was cast as a recurring character on the hit teen drama. His character, Andrew Campbell, appeared alongside stars of the show including Troian Bellisario and Lucy Hale. But now, his life is taking a far more serious turn as he was recently sentenced to 180 days in jail for pointing a gun at a neighbor.

The actor was found guilty of one misdemeanor count of assault with a firearm after pleading no contest. According to prosecutors, he exposed a concealed handgun during an argument with a neighbor at his North Hills home on Oct. 30, 2015. Then, on March 24, 2016, he brandished a knife and pointed a handgun at a neighbor during a different dispute.

The irony is during his character’s arc on PLL, a trial was actually a central part of the plot. In the photo above, he is attending Allison DiLaurentis’ (played by Sasha Pieterse) trial on the show. In the show, Ali is also found guilty (just like Brandon) but of course she was found guilty of a much more serious crime (murder).

While his jail time might seem like a lot, he almost received a much longer sentence. Ricardo Santiago of the district attorney’s office revealed that Jones faced up to five years if convicted. Now, it makes sense why he pleaded guilty to the charges. He will also have to serve three years of probation and 30 days of community labor. The court also ordered him to take 26 anger management courses, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement
earlier this week.
