Have you ever stopped to think about how Cardi B went from a D-list reality star to one of the most famous people in the world basically overnight? That's the question that was keeping YouTuber Shane Dawson up at night, and he thinks he may have found the answer! He put out another conspiracy theory video on Feb. 14, and in it he comes to the conclusion that Cardi is being mind-controlled by the Illuminati in exchange for fame!

Okay, okay, we know it sounds insane, but Shane's argument might just change your mind. His first bit of evidence includes a weird "glitch" when Cardi was talking to Giuliana Rancic at the Grammys. Midway through answering a question, she abruptly stops and stares, then shakes it off and starts talking again as if nothing happened. He thinks this is a lapse in her mind-control.

Shane also points to comments Cardi's made about the Illuminati in the past, and the fact that other mega-stars are alleged to be connected to the secret society (cough, cough Beyonce). Finally, he includes a theory that other young performers have been mind-controlled for years, and when they finally snap out of it they act kooky… like Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes. We guess that's, uh, one explanation.

Believe it or not, this actually isn't the first conspiracy theory that Cardi had been involved in. When Cardi and Nicki Minaj were both featured on Migos' song "Motorsport," there were all sorts of theories about beef between the female rappers. Luckily, Nicki put that one to bed so fans can stop speculating. “I was on the song w/Quavo. No one else was on it,” she tweeted. “He called & asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said ‘ok let’s do it.’ The end. Migos weren’t even on it yet. Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories r just so tired. Relax. Breathe.” Now we just need to wait for Cardi to shut down the Illuminati rumors!
