Okurr! Cardi B certainly cleaned up at the MTV Video Music Awards last night, but it wasn’t without a little shade-throwing. The 25-year-old mama — who gave birth to her daughter Kulture Kiari on July 10 — kicked the night off with what some felt was a jab at Nicki Minaj‘s new album, Queen. During her acceptance speech, she referred to herself as “the Empress.”

“I had the baby, I carried the baby, and I’m still winning awards!” Cardi said as she accepted her moon man. “All the love that my fans, that my friends, that everybody shows me is genuine, is beautiful, and that’s something that God gives me, that you can’t buy, b–ch.”

The latter seemingly referred to Nicki recently going off on Travis Scott for his new album, “Astroworld.” On Aug. 19, she tweeted, “I put my blood sweat & tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi. lol,” she wrote. “I’m actually laughing. #Queen broke the record of being number 1 in 86 countries. Thank Jesus & thank you to my fans.”

Just minutes earlier, she said, “Travis sold over 50K of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc. I spoke to him. He knows he doesn’t have the #1 album this week. I love my fans for the #1 album in AMERICA! I’ll explain on #QueenRadio 4 albums in, #1 in 86 countries.”

Needless to say, fans have been absolutely LIVING for the drama. “Cardi B really got on stage at the VMAs and said ‘It’s me, THE EMPRESS’ shady!!!! I love the drama!!!!” someone tweeted. Another added, “Cardi literally just named herself ‘Empress.’ An empress has more power and a wider range of people under her rule than a Queen lmfaooooooo. Her petty levels is exactly what I aspire! Call her Empress Cardi B from now on!”

Just last week, however, Nicki was asked about her rumored feud with Cardi while chatting with Beats 1 Radio‘s Ebro Darden and revealed she didn’t know there was tension brewing between them. “Now, I didn’t know Cardi and I had an issue, but I guess we do since you’re saying it and other people are saying it,” the “Chun-Li” rapper explained during her press run interview for her fourth studio album on Aug. 16. “To me, she may have taken an issue with things that I’ve said. But, I’m not going to bite my tongue. You gotta have thick skin, people talk s–t about me all the time. You can’t be expected to be liked and loved and praised all the f–king time. Give me a break.”
