Carrie Underwood’s Pregnancy Is Her Priority ‘Over Everything’ — Including Her Album (EXCLUSIVE)
Jesus, take the wheel. It’s no secret that Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher wanted to give their 3-year-old son, Isaiah, a sibling somethin’ bad. Now, the “Cry Pretty” singer, 35, is finally opening up about just how hard it was to get pregnant with their second child. A few weeks after her August announcement that she was expecting, Carrie revealed that she suffered three devastating miscarriages in the last two years.
“I had always been afraid to be angry because we are so blessed,” the country superstar admitted. When she feared that she was going to lose this baby, too, “I got mad,” she continued. “I was like, ‘Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid?'”
After doctors assured the American Idol alum that her current pregnancy was healthy, “Carrie began calling this baby a miracle from God,” an insider tells Life & Style. “She’s doing her best to stick to work commitments but knows how important it is to take care of herself, especially after everything that’s happened.”
Making sure that her own health and the health of her baby is a priority meant that some things, like work, have to occasionally take a back seat. In September, the seven-time Grammy winner was forced to cancel several shows after she was hospitalized in Germany for three days with a viral illness that gave her vertigo. “Carrie is prioritizing her health, her happiness and her baby over everything, including her new album,” says the insider. “All she talks about is how excited she is to be having another child.”

She’s also making sure that son Isaiah is ready to be a big brother. “They’re doing everything they can,” says a source, “to make sure he doesn’t feel left out.” In fact, they even took him to Disneyland for a special day at the “Happiest Place on Earth.” Little Isaiah even had his face painted to look like a tiger and got to ride around on dad Mike’s shoulders all day long. Now that’s what we call a good day.
