Let the final countdown begin! With Season 15 of The Voice premiering tonight, we decided it was time to introduce y’all to the first artist to announce their audition. Chris Kroeze took to Instagram earlier in the month to reveal that he’ll be showing off his singing chops on the famed NBC stage this fall.

“Guess who auditioned for @nbcthevoice?! HELP me spread the word… SHARE, POST, TELL YOUR FRIENDS, and INVITE them to FOLLOW my page to see what happens!” the hopeful musician wrote. Aw, we can sense his excitement already!

Instead of waiting until his episode airs to get to know the 27-year-old, here are some fun facts about your potential new Voice favorite. According to Idol Chatter, Chris is a country, blues, and southern rock musician from Barron, WI, who has performed more than 200 shows per year for five years now! Additionally, he has opened for industry heavy-hitters like Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, and Josh Thompson.

Many of Chris’ performances have been for US troops serving in the Middle East. “Not having served myself, it’s a little something that I can do to contribute, to bring a little bit of home to our men and women serving our country,” he explained to the New Richmond News.

As for his home life? Well, based on his Instagram page, Chris has a beautiful little family! He often posts pictures with his wife and two children — a daughter named Bella and a son named Fynlee — enjoying some quality time together.

We can’t wait to see if Chris has what it takes to wow The Voice judges. Not to generalize or anything, but we suspect Blake Shelton will definitely appreciate this guy’s craft. If you want to check out Chris’ music in the meantime, you can head over to iTunes, Spotify, or YouTube

Be sure to catch new episodes of  The Voice every Monday night at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
