Former Bachelor Chris Soules was arrested and charged with fleeing the scene of a fatal car accident.
The 35-year-old Iowa native was driving his Chevy pickup when he rear-ended a tractor trailer on Monday night, sending the vehicle into a ditch, according to TMZ.
The driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Chris was eventually charged with leaving the scene with a death after witnesses were able to identify him to police. He is currently in custody, and documents reveal he was in possession of alcoholic beverage containers at the time of the crash.
Ironically, just a few days before the accident, Chris, who appeared on Season 19 of the reality dating competition, didn't seem to have a care in the world.
"Feeling like I'm on top of the world!," he captioned his last Instagram photo on top of the Empire State Building.
Fans are definitely torn over his decision to flee the scene of an accident, flooding his page with well-wishes and words of disappointment.
"No wonder you're single! What a horrible human you are, who does that?" one commenter wrote before another added, "What they say you did was wrong. Regardless, I'm praying for you man! Terrible situation."
Last month, Chris, who ended his engagement with Whitney Bischoff after just six months, revealed he had been invited to join Bachelor in Paradise but was not sure if he would return to reality television.
"I don't think my schedule will allow it honestly. I don't know. Honestly, it looks like a lot of fun...," he told Us Weekly. "When I went to be the Bachelor, I went to find a wife and I take this really seriously. I don't wanna go into something like that where I'm disingenuous, you know? ... I don't wanna make a fool of myself on national television."
Our thoughts are with all parties involved during this difficult time.
