Todd, Julie Chrisley Prison Sentencing: Family Reacts

Stronger together. The Chrisley family members are showing support for Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley after they were sentenced to serve time in prison.

On November 21, Todd, 53, was sentenced to 12 years and Julie, 49, was sentenced to seven years in prison after they were found guilty in their tax evasion case, In Touch confirmed. Additionally, both Chrisley Knows Best stars received 16 months of probation.

Even before the sentencing, the family had also been open about the stress leading up to the hearing. Their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, spoke about the sentencing during the November 21 episode of her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,” which was recorded four days before Todd and Julie’s fate was revealed.

“It’s just really hard to sit here, four days before I go sit in the courtroom,” she said. “I don’t know what my fate is, what my family’s fate is. I know that the short term is going to be really difficult and I may come home without both of my parents. That’s what the chances are, that’s the likelihood and that’s my new normal.”

The TV personality went on to note that she will have to adjust to life without seeing her parents so often. “There’s never been a time in my life when I haven’t felt the safety of my parents,” Savannah, 25, said. “There’s never been a time in my life where I had to wonder, ‘Is Dad coming home tonight? Where is he? Why isn’t he answering? Is Mom going to be there to take me to the doctor? Is she gonna celebrate the holidays? Is she gonna cook dinner?’ I never had to worry about where my parents were, if they were gonna show up.”

Savannah then admitted she was dreading spending the holiday season without Todd and Julie. “You really never know when your last moment’s going to be your last with someone,” she said. “I look at the holidays and they’re going to be really different this year. I mean, Thanksgiving, Christmas, it’s going to be really, really challenging and really different and not what we’re used to. But I know that it’s not going to be this way forever.”

Lindsie Chrisley

“I wanted to take a step back and begin to process everything before speaking and making any statements,” Lindsie said in a statement to Hollywood Life while thanking fans for the support. “The past few months have been extremely hard for me and my family, and I am heartbroken over the updates in my parents’ case that occurred late last month.”
The “Coffee Convos” podcast host continued that there “is no tea” and did not want anyone to “twist my response.”

“I am heartbroken and navigating this process the best way I know how,” she continued. “At the end of the day, this is a real family, and these are real and raw emotions. With that being said, thank you all for your love, support and prayers. It really means the world to my family and me.”

Chase Chrisley

Chase shared a meaningful post about loss via Instagram Stories on November 28. The former reality star recounted a conversation with one of his friends who had “unexpectedly lost his wife.” Chase recalled chatting with his pal about how his “wifey wanted my homemade chili and cornbread” for dinner, but he “didn’t feel like stopping at the store” before going home.

“We golfed a few more minutes when he quietly said, ‘Make the chili.’ It took me a few minutes to realize we were no longer talking about dinner,” the post continued. “It was about going out of your way to do something for someone you love because at any moment, they could unexpectedly be taken from you.”

Chase added, “So today I’m sharing with you that wisdom handed to me by my dear friend, that I’ve thought of so many times since that day. Next time someone you love wants you to go for a walk or watch a football game or play a board game or just put your phone down and give them your undivided attention, just do it.”

Savannah Chrisley

Just hours after the sentencing, Savannah hinted at her thoughts on the decision by taking to her Instagram Stories on November 21.

She shared a quote from pastor Kimberly Jones, also known as Real Talk Kim, that implied she didn’t have to explain her family or the situation to anyone. “Noah didn’t stop building the ark to explain himself to everyone who doubted and hated on him,” the post read. “Keep building your ark. The rain will do the talking.”

When Thanksgiving 2022 rolled around, Savannah stayed relatively quiet on social media, instead taking to her professional account for Sass by Savannah Chrisley to wish her followers a happy holiday.

Lindsie Chrisley

Lindsie – who was estranged from Todd from 2019 until the summer of 2022 – revealed she was leaning on friends during the difficult time.

The “Coffee Convos” podcast cohost, 33, shared a video of her friends on her bed as Bruno Mars’ “Count On Me” played via her Instagram Stories on November 21. “The best girlfriends, show up in the bad times with hugs and champagne,” she wrote above the video.

Taking to social media amid her first Thanksgiving since the sentencing, Lindsie shared a sweet cuddle moment with her son on her Instagram Stories before telling fans that she wouldn’t be spending much more time on social media amid the holiday. She did, however, share a photo of a Bible study page which read, in part, “Ask God to remove anything in your life that is taking the place that belongs to Him.”

Kyle Chrisley

Kyle, 31, seemingly reacted to Todd and Julie’s sentencing by quoting Bible verses via his Instagram Stories on November 22, which urged his social media followers to not judge his family.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you,” the verses read. “Who do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
