For a recent trip to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, John Legend‘s pregnant wife Chrissy Teigen insisted that she and daughter Luna, 21 months, tag along. “He looked into renting a nice, big mountain house for his girls,” a Sundance insider tells Life & Style, but Chrissy wouldn’t have it. “She demanded a hotel with round-the-clock service that would cater to her every need 24/7.” John quickly rearranged their plans. As always, the insider says, he makes sure that “whatever Chrissy wants, Chrissy gets.”

But it’s taking a toll. The singer and his wife of nearly four-and-a-half years — who are expecting a boy this spring — “are having real marriage problems,” a source reveals. “They have been in therapy together and are trying very hard to make their marriage work.”

They’ve been through a lot. Last March, Chrissy, 32, publicly revealed she’d been diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety following Luna’s 2016 birth. “It’s been rough,” the source says. For a while, “Chrissy was acting almost paranoid and was accusing John of getting too close to other women. They ended up fighting about it all the time. It was a terrible atmosphere in the home.” John, 39, of course, “denied it,” adds the source, “and has been trying to be patient because he realizes it was a difficult time for her. But he was getting wiped out.”

In August, Chrissy made another shocking revelation. “I was, point-blank, just drinking too much,” she confessed. “I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected.” John remained “loving and supportive” through it all, says the source, but even so, “some of their closest friends worry their marriage won’t work.”

Still, the couple isn’t giving up, and pals hope the new baby will bring them closer. “Chrissy will do anything she can to save her marriage,” says the source. “She loves John and he loves her. But they will need to do a lot more work on their marriage if it’s going to last.”
