Christie Brinkley's stunning 16-year-old daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook is following in her mother's footsteps and making a name for herself in the modeling industry. But with all of Christie's experience, she's wary of the effects the business can have on a young girl.
Speaking on 'The Meredith Vieira Show' in an episode to be aired on Monday, Christie explained her shock at seeing the other models that her daughter was competing with.

"When I went to the modeling agency with my daughter Sailor, I saw the girls [were] so, so, so skinny," she explained. "And I just said to Sailor, 'You're not going to go there. Either the business comes to you, and you represent health, or you don't need to do that.'"
In the modeling business, balancing health and looks can be a slippery slope but, luckily for mom, Sailor took the advice and remained careful about her weight.
"She did start to lose a little too much weight, but she caught it herself," said Christie. "She is so smart and so strong. I am so grateful [for] my kids [Sailor, Jack, 20, and Alexa Ray Joel, 29]. I've said to each one of them, ‘Just use your brain because you are so smart. You know the answers. You are the one that's going to take care of you. It's that great brain of yours that's going to keep you out of trouble,' and she did."
