The Emmy nominee allegedly submitted the papers on Dec. 31, stating that the couple separated a month earlier.

Because there are no kids involved, TMZ reports that Keegan-Michael is asking for the court to figure out spousal support down the line.

The Detroit native is best known for his Comedy Central sketch show, which has been on the air for five seasons. He also made waves as President Obama‘s “Anger Translator” at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last year. Cynthia works in Hollywood as a dialect coach.
