The man who made Penelope Cruz famous has anointed a new starlet to be her successor.
"Blanca Suarez is the new Penelope Cruz," Spanish director Pedro Almodovar announced to the crowd at the premiere of his new screwball comedy I'm So Excited at the Cinema Society and DeLeon Tequila-presented premiere in NYC on Thursday night.
The 24-year-old wasn't the only star Almodavar gushed over at the premiere. He couldn't stop exclaiming how hot his male star, Miguel Angel Silvestre was. The Academy Award winner made Silvestre blush when he revealed the young actor used to be a stripper.
"When was the last time you stripped?" the Volver director asked him.
"Last night," Silvestre replied.
Later in the evening, at the film's afterparty at No. 8, the director challenged Silvestre to a strip-off. The actor politely declined.
