It’s officially over. Emily Ratajkowski filed for divorce from husband Sebastian Bear-McClard after four years of marriage, Life & Style can confirm.

The My Body author, 31, filed the paperwork at the Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday, September 8, according to online records viewed by Life & Style. The case type was listed as contested. According to Page Six, which was first to report,  a contested divorce means “there are issues to be litigated.”

Reps for Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard did not immediately respond to Life & Style’s request for comment.

On July 18, Life & Style confirmed the couple had called it quits and the Inamorata designer was “talking to attorneys” about getting a divorce. “She’s staying strong,” a source previously told Life & Style, adding that Ratajkowski is “holding it together for their son.”

The Gone Girl actress and the Uncut Gems producer share their only child together, son Sylvester, whom they welcomed in March 2021. Neither party has publicly commented on the breakup.

Bear-McClard allegedly cheated on Ratajkowski “multiple times,” a source previously told In Touch in August following their split. While the model didn’t directly address the claims, she “liked” a slew of tweets alluding to the producer’s infidelity, including one that read, “I can’t believe that little bitch cheated.”

Despite the rockiness in their relationship, Bear-McClard had been “pleading” to get back together with Ratajkowski, a separate source told In Touch, adding that he has “major regrets.”

Speculation over Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard’s troubled relationship status began when the We Are Your Friends actress was spotted without her wedding ring on multiple occasions in July 2022. She was first seen without the dual-diamond ring when she was spotted taking a stroll with her son around New York City and then again when she posted an Instagram carousel of herself later in the month.

Further speculation about an impending split between the two stirred when they sold their Los Angeles home in June. The exes put their three-bedroom, three-bathroom home on the market in May 2022, which quickly sold to the new homeowner in June 2022 for $2.48 million.

The former couple tied the knot in February 2018 in a courthouse wedding, weeks after taking their romance public. They shared an intimate ceremony with a few of their closest friends after just weeks of dating.

“He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern [in New York City],” Ratajkowski said during an April 2018 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “He didn’t have a ring, so I was like, ‘Mmm, nah,’” she continued. “And then, he took the paper clip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring, which I actually thought was really romantic.”

Three years later, they welcomed their son, Sylvester

“Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side,” Ratajkowski captioned an Instagram post at the time. “Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life.”

“I’m completely and undeniably helpless when it comes to almost everything surrounding my pregnancy,” she wrote in an October 2020 essay for Vogue reflecting on the sex of her child. “I’m already learning from this person inside my body.”
