In the new issue of Life & Style, Des’ brother Nate Hartsock says “it’s obvious” his sister settled for Chris.“Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids,” her brother tells Life & Style. “Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice.”

'Bachelorette' Desiree Hartsock Engaged to Chris Siegfried

Her brother insists all is well now: “She is happy with him and with how it ended up,” he tells Life & Style.

And he believes that Des is determined to walk down the aisle — in record time. “I think this will be a short engagement,” Nate says“I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer. I think it’s obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she’s ‘all in’ with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her.”

Meanwhile, pals believe that Des, who moved to Seattle to be with Chris on Aug. 10, and her groom will never make it down the aisle.
