Before ‘Flip or Flop Vegas’ Premieres, Meet Hosts Bristol and Aubrey Marunde!
Welcome to the HGTV family, Flip or Flop Vegas!
After OG Flip or Flop couple Tarek and Christina El Moussa’s unfortunate divorce drama last year, the network is launching a spin-off in Sin City with brand new fixer-uppers Bristol and Aubrey Marunde.
Before the series premiere on Thursday, April 6, we set out to learn more about the married duo! Scroll down for all the details:
They met at a UFC fight.
Although Bristol, 34, still competes as a mixed martial artist — he broke his jaw in 2015 — the pair got to know each other while watching a fight with mutual friends in 2009. It only took one coffee date for the couple to realize they were meant for each other. “We decided right then and there that we wanted to settle down and be together,” Bristol admits. They tied the knot six years later in their own backyard.
They have two adorable sons.
Kale, 6, and Kane, 3, love to help their parents with projects. “Kale is just like me and pretty amazing when it comes to colors,” Aubrey reveals. “I handed him the huge paint swatch book yesterday and said, ‘I'm thinking light blue accent wall…’ He flipped through, and in about 30 seconds said, ‘This one.’ It was the exact color I had picked from an online swatch book earlier in the day! It’s a pretty cool thing to see yourself shine through in your kids.”
They’re obsessed with animals.
“Bristol is always bringing something home for the kids from job sites,” Aubrey shares. “Last week it was a huge lizard in a drywall bucket he found, and before that, a baby bunny.”
Aubrey bought her first house at age 20.
Wondering if this duo has what it takes to be the next great flippers? Well, real estate guru Aubrey owned her first piece of property before she could legally drink. “I always knew I would own my own business, and the challenges of starting from nothing and building your business was exciting for me,” she shares.
Tune in to the premiere of Flip or Flop Vegas on April 6 at 9 p.m. ET on HGTV!
