‘Floribama Shore’ Star Jeremiah Says He Would Have Gone for Nilsa If Gus Hadn’t Swooped In (EXCLUSIVE)

Missed his chance. Floribama Shore star Jeremiah Buoni opened up exclusively to Life & Style about Monday night’s two-hour series premiere of MTV’s Jersey Shore spin-off — in which fans saw the hunky gym enthusiast totally shut down co-star Nilsa Prowant’s flirtatious advances. Well, according to Jeremiah, he only ignored the brunette beauty because his buddy Gus Smyrnios already had a thing for her.

“If that wasn't the case, I probably would have gone after her. But even after meeting Gus, I knew that we were similar people and I knew that if I did something, I would have lost his respect immediately,” the Clermont, FL, native explained. “I just wasn't willing to actually go for it that way.”

Not long after Gus took Nilsa on a date — which, TBH, was awkward AF — Jeremiah asked the house’s resident wild child, Kortni Gilson, out to dinner. While the pair had a great time, Jeremiah decided that he and Kort were better off as friends by the end of their meal.

“It was just the fact that I was trying to get to know the people in the house, and I felt like Kortni, with all the drama that was happening in the house, I wanted to actually learn about who she was outside of the house,” he told Life & Style. “Because I feel like when cameras are around and the party is around, she's very excited, so I wanted to get her away from all the drama in the house.”

As viewers witnessed on Monday night, Kortni stole the show several times: first, by peeing on her roommate Candace Rice’s bed; and then, by threatening to hit Kayla Jo, another one of Jeremiah’s love interests, in the head during a heated argument at a nightclub.

“I would say slightly, she's a little bit embarrassed, because in the end she thought it was a prank. She thought we were faking it and I was like, 'No. I smelled your piss. That's wrong,’” Jeremiah said of Kortni's bedwetting, adding that her reckless behavior caused permanent damage to his relationship with Kayla. “Unfortunately, things with Kayla Jo — we're still talking, but I feel like the whole situation kind of put a damper on things.”

Floribama Shore airs on MTV Mondays at 10 p.m. EST.
