From the looks of it, the Descendants actor, 57, the lawyer, 41, and monarch, 70, are as thick as thieves.

Apparently, George and Amal weren’t the only celebs in the house. They were joined by fellow showbusiness heavy-hitters Chiwetel Ejiofor, Luke Evans, Tamsin Egerton, Josh Hartnett and Benedict Cumberbatch. Not a bad squad, huh?

Defenders of the Crown …

The last time George was associated with the royal family was back in February. Unfortunately, his experience wasn’t nearly as glamorous. The father-of-two was slammed by Meghan Markle’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, for defending the Duchess of Sussex, 37. 

Prince Charles Seemingly Has No Issues With ‘Looney Clooney!’

“Hey Looney Clooney! Your lawyer wife should have taught you not to make statements without full facts,” Samantha tweeted about the Oscar-winner. Unfortunately for Sam, 55, her words hold very little weight with the royals. You can talk smack about George all you want … but he’s still getting those invites, girl!

Where’s Meghan, Though?

Seeing as Meghan and her hubby, Prince Harry, just celebrated Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey, the pair is likely still in England. Why is it, then, that they didn’t attend Prince Charles’ event?

Hmm, Maybe She’s Upset With George?

While the silver fox was no doubt defending the mother-to-be with his comments, we can’t help but wonder if Meghan took issue with George speaking out. “I do want to say, they’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” he told Who magazine. “She’s a woman who is seven [now eight] months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself.”

“We’ve seen how that ends,” George continued. “I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father, she’s getting a raw deal there and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that.”
