People can’t stop talking about Mama June’s impressive weight loss, but what a lot of fans don’t know is that the reality star has been dealing with an abundance of other health issues for years.
The 38-year-old is, in fact, legally blind, which she revealed on an episode of her former TLC show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. In one moment caught on camera, the mother-of-four struggled to go-kart with her family after admitting that she doesn’t have a driver’s license because of her condition. "I'm not going to lie to you, my eyesight was a little blurry," she said after crashing into the barrier.
June’s vision deteriorated due to childhood cataracts that had not been treated properly. "She can't have surgery because they believe it could do more harm than good," a TLC spokesperson told the Daily Mail in 2013. “The damages are that bad."

Fans of Toddlers & Tiaras may remember the Georgia native struggling to do daughter Honey Boo Boo’s makeup when she competed in pageants. “My mama better stick to couponing and stay away from the makeup table,” the now 12-year-old once said.
Though her eyesight might still be a problem — which was confirmed by the TLC sneak preview of Mama June: From Not to Hot Season 2 return — June is thrilled to have gotten her weight under control. The reality star underwent gastric sleeve and skin removal surgeries to lose almost 300 pounds!
"You don't just go into sleeve surgery and think it is a temporary fix because it is not," she told Good Morning America in April 2017. "You have to work almost every day. I'm not saying I'm the most perfect person because trust me, I do eat."
June, who revealed that "nine pounds of skin" came off her stomach, previously told Life & Style, “I just watch my portions and cut back on a lot of the carbs. The one thing that I cannot live without is my grapes and cheese."
