Margot Robbie took Hollywood by storm after appearing in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad, Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood and the upcoming 2023 film, Barbie. While she’s now a household name in show business, the Australian actress has maintained a super low profile when it came to romance. So, fans have a hard time deciphering who was part of her dating history before she eventually wed husband Tom Ackerley.

Margot Robbie Didn’t Initially Want a Relationship

In May 2016, Margot opened up to Vogue about her love life, noting that she was “the ultimate single gal” before getting married.

“The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me,” the I, Tonya star said, referring to her relationship with Tom. “We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.’ And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.’”

The pair reportedly first met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama Suite Francaise, where Tom was working as an assistant director. One year later, they cofounded their production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, which has produced multiple successful films.

In the summer of 2016, the lovebirds sparked engagement rumors just months before they officially tied the knot that December in a small town in Australia’s Byron Bay. According to People, only 50 people were in attendance for their ceremony, during which the actress wore a cream-colored gown and pulled back her hair into a French braid.

Near one year after they said, “I do,” the Promising Young Woman producer told Us Weekly she and her husband felt “very grown up now.”

“My husband and I were roommates before we were even dating, so I’m kind of living with my roommate and it’s awesome,” she revealed in October 2017. “We lived with a bunch of people, and now, we’re just living [as] the two of us.”

Before finding her happily ever after with Tom, Margot reportedly dated fellow actor Alexander Skarsgård and Henry Aitken.

Tom Ackerley

Margot and Tom got hitched in December 2016 in a top-secret wedding ceremony in her native Australia. They’ve also continued working together with their production company, producing a slew of hit films including Birds of Prey and the upcoming Barbie flick, in addition to the Netflix miniseries Maid.

Alexander Skarsgard

Although the Mary Queen of Scots star has not publicly confirmed the speculation, E! News reported in January 2015 that Margot and Alexander were seen kissing at a Sundance Film Festival party.

“They were there late-night holding hands,” an insider told the outlet. “Margot and Alexander definitely looked like a couple. They were very touchy-feely and at one point were full on kissing!”
