Here comes the bride! My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore revealed on December 3, that she and her boyfriend, Chase Severino, are officially engaged. The pair took a trip to Paris together this fall, and he popped the question on top of the Eiffel Tower on October 9.

If you follow the reality babe on Instagram, then you’re probably already familiar with her handsome beau. Fans will get to know him even more when he makes his debut on season 6 of the TLC show, which premieres on January 7.

This isn’t the first time Whitney has gotten close to getting hitched. She was seen shopping for wedding dresses during season 5. However, her man at the time, Avi Lang, betrayed her before they could walk down the aisle.

“I met a really amazing guy,” Whitney said in the trailer for season 5. “He only likes fat women.” The plus-sized beauty was then filmed trying on wedding dresses with her mom, Babs, who can’t stop gushing about her daughter. “You are going to make a gorgeous bride,” she raved.

However, it soon becomes obvious that there will be no wedding. “Clearly, I can’t depend on you,” Whitney said to Avi on the phone. Then, she asked her beau, “Did you love me?” between tears. Shockingly, it was revealed that he was planning another wedding with a different woman behind her back — and the infidelity didn’t stop there.

Sadly, this was not the first time the starlet experienced loss on the series. During season 4, Whitney thought she was expecting but was left devastated following three false-positive at-home pregnancy tests. “I started thinking that maybe this was meant to be because I’ve always been worried that I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant. So that’s what made it all the more traumatic,” she told People magazine. “Even though the doctor said that I was never pregnant, I thought that I was. So to find out that I wasn’t, after a week of thinking that I was, it felt like a loss, and I grieved it like a loss.”

At the time, Whitney had just broken up with her ex-boyfriend Lennie Alehat but had no plans to reconcile, despite the fact that there was a possibility that they would be having a baby together. “It’s really strange — in a matter of a couple months, to go from ‘I don’t think I’m in love with you anymore,’ and we’re breaking up, to ‘We’re having a baby,’” she said. “It’s a really weird feeling knowing I am tied to Lennie for the rest of my life.”

It looks like 2020 is going to be the year of love for Whitney!
