Beauty influencer and YouTube star James Charles is asking Kim Kardashian not to limit her next beauty campaign to just women. The makeup guru took to social media to remind the reality star, who just launched her own beauty empire, that she should include males in her upcoming photo shoots.
"Sister @KimKardashian! There are thousands of boys in cosmetics who love you & I’m sure would be honored to slay a photo shoot for you! This is disappointing," the 18-year-old wrote. We love that James is standing up for men in the beauty industry — and when he was accused of "slamming" Kim, he swiftly clapped back. Watch the video below to hear what James had to say!
Earlier this week, Kim shared an open casting call for a photoshoot, which read, "Calling all faces! We are excited to announce an open model casting call in the LA area for several upcoming KKW beauty campaigns." And while there was no age limit, it did seemingly exclude male models and influencers. James, along with Manny MUA, Patrick Starrr, and Jeffree Star, are just some of the boys making names for themselves in the beauty industry — and they deserve a chance to model Kim's makeup product just as much as the next girl.
"Men and makeup isn't accepted by everybody, and that's OK," James told Allure. "People have a right to their opinion. But when I get messages from people saying that my wearing makeup inspired them to do the same and feel more confident, it makes me so happy — I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world."
Kim has yet to respond — but we have a feeling she will extend an invite to all the fabulous boys in beauty ASAP. And we'll have James to thank!
