As if we weren’t in love with Jared Leto already.
Life & Style caught up with the Dallas Buyers Club star at the 2014 Oscars luncheon in Beverly Hills Monday, and he had one woman on his mind: his mom, Constance.
When asked about the strength she’s brought to him, he couldn’t stop raving about his leading lady.
“The biggest lesson she taught me was to dream, and then do the work it takes to make dreams a reality,” the 42-year-old told the mag.
Constance has been on her son’s arm for nearly every event during this awards season, and he said it’s been “fun” bringing her around.
“You get these opportunities to stand up here and say something. The best part is to be able to thank the people that have believed in you for so long,” the handsome actor told Life & Style.
“I could spend every single one of these events thanking my mother and talking about my mom. She’s the best.”
Suh-woon — could this guy be any more perfect?
The Oscar nominee, who already won a Golden Globe for his role as Rayon, an HIV-positive transgender man, in Dallas, also opened up about his early life and how his mother always strove to provide for him and his older brother, Shannon.
“We were born very poor — into pretty humble surroundings,” he shared.
“My mother always wanted to do something better with her life. She wanted to do something better for her children. She was a dreamer. She was a worker. She still is.”
Something else on his mind? His amazing sparkling shoes he wore to yesterday’s event.
“I don’t dress up very much, so I thought it would be fun,” the former My So-Called Life star said to Life & Style about the glitzy kicks.
“You’ve gotta have fun. I don’t wear a lot of suits and sports jackets, but you want to feel like yourself – not your agent.”
Next up for Jared are the Oscars, which airs live on ABC on March 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
He’s up against Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street), Bradley Cooper (American Hustle), and Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave) in the Best Actor — in a Supporting Role category.
