Jason Aldean and Wife Brittany Kerr Welcome Baby No. 1 — Look Back at Their Scandalous Love Story!
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes cheating, another marriage, presumably some love… and then comes Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr with a baby carriage! The country crooner, 40, and his wife, 29, just welcomed their first child together — a baby boy named Memphis!
"So blessed today to see my little man come into the world. In a year that has been a rollercoaster ride, this is what it's all about. I can't wait to see what life has in store for this kid. Memphis Aldean… 9 [pounds] 5 [ounces]."
And, sure, a baby is a blessing and the two are over-the-moon about their new addition, there’s no denying that their road to having a baby was a rocky one. For those who are unfamiliar, the relationship between the ACM Award winner and the former American Idol contestant began as an affair while he was still married to his wife Jessica Ussery.
The drama began in September 2012, when the singer was seen cozying up to Britt — at the time, he was still married to Jessica (with whom he shares two daughters, Keeley, 14, and Kendyl, 9). After photos of Jason and Brittany smooching surfaced, he apologized to not only his wife, but also his fans, saying “The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand, and acted inappropriately at a bar.”
Shortly thereafter, he and Jessica reunited — saying they weren’t ready to give up on their 11-year marriage — and two months after his “lapse in judgment,” they were able to call it a “learning experience.” By April of the following year, however, things went south for Jason and Jessica and the two decided to separate and he filed for divorce.
Less than one year later — in March 2014 — it was revealed that the newly single country singer was dating his one-time mistress and by September of that same year, they were engaged to be married.
“It has been two years of this s–t,” he said in an interview with Billboard of his cheating scandal shortly after his September 2014 engagement. “Get over it, already!” Around the same time, an insider told In Touch that they were planning a “low-key” wedding due to the backlash around their engagement.
And in March of 2015, they did exactly that — exchanged vows in front of those closest to them in an intimate Mexico ceremony. While their relationship may have started off rocky, it’s clear that Jason and Brittany are living the life they’ve always dreamed of together.
“I know she would like to have at least one kid,” he gushed in October. “And I’m down for that. I love kids and being a dad is one of the best things in the world for me. If it’s meant to happen, it will. Only time will tell.”
